WHO AM I ~ BY MAGAJI EMMANUEL

WHO AM I?

Who am I?
A product of making the back
By two passionate birds
Who rammed each other like a savage bull

Who am I?
A baby who
evolved to see this crazy world
Led by blood
gushing out from the gates of ecstasy
accompanied by a cord
That connects me to the divine gate.

Who am l?
A baby walking on four legs
Diapers chained around my waist
Who am l?
A toddler, sucking firm fresh African breast
To feed my hungry den
like a vampire craving for blood.

Who am l?
A man l have become
Fresh handsome and clean
A philandrous terrorist l have become
Without my bulletproof vest
Stiff is my manhood
And conscience evades its mind.

Who am l?
A pertinent soul l have become
Age seems to tear me apart
Cracked are my lips like a drained soul
And my body dehydrates to appease
A serial killer.

Who am l?
An HIV victim, telling tales to the ears
That seek it and to those who do not,
AIDS is real.
