I SAID GOODBYE TO YOU TODAY ~BY BRYNN HUDSON

I SAID GOODBYE TO YOU TODAY

I kissed your hands today, to say goodbye. Those two beautiful hands, they raised me. They lifted me when I was down. Those hands wiped away the tears that I cried. Those hands that taught me how to pray, how to say hello and how to say goodbye.

I touched your arms today, to say goodbye. Those two strong arms that would hold me tight when I was scared or to show me love with their warm embrace.

I kissed your lips today, to say goodbye.
Those lips that have prayed. Those lips that have whispered sweet words of wisdom and guidance.

I touched your legs today, to say goodbye.
Those two strong legs knelt before his altar to give the good lord praise. Those legs that have bent to the earth to sow and tend the garden you loved. These legs have walked beside me and showed me the way.

I kissed your eyes today, to say goodbye.
Those two beautiful blue eyes that have seen love, joy, hope, faith, miracles, hurt, pain and strife.

I touched your heart today, to say goodbye. That heart that’s loved unconditionally. That heart that ached when a missing loved one had gone. That heart that taught me how to love and how to be loved in return.

I said goodbye to you today and that was hard to do. For this will be the last goodbye I will ever have with you. I love you dearly and will miss you still but I know that your soul is with me as it always has and always will.
