NOT MEANT TO BE
In a realm of words, our journey began,
A debate competition, minds sparked with fire,
Two souls colliding, a symphony of clash,
And in that instance, a connection transpired.
Eyes locked in a spirited intellectual dance,
Amidst the chaos, our passion took flight,
Debating ideas, ideologies entwined,
A spark of curiosity, a flicker of light.
Time passed on, seasons danced with grace,
Fate’s hand whispered a different decree,
Upon a railway station’s platform embrace,
Destiny coursed; a meeting unforeseen.
There she stood, amidst the bustling crowd,
Her presence radiant, a celestial star,
Hearts fluttered, nervous steps pranced,
Revisiting memories from debates afar.
With hope in my heart, intentions unveiled,
I orchestrated courage, a proposal planned,
But alas, the universe had other plans,
A painful knowledge that abruptly reprimands.
Words fell upon my ears, a dagger of truth,
She, bound in love’s embrace, another’s heart she owned,
A bittersweet revelation, a song of stolen dreams,
Yet in that sorrow, my own heart still groaned.
Fate may wield its whims with fierce delight,
The path we dreamed, forever altered anew,
But the lessons learned as grace takes flight,
Shall shape our spirits, in love’s kaleidoscope view.
For though this chapter ends with a mournful sigh,
The poet’s pen forever etches a tale,
Of fleeting moments shared, precious and divine,
And in the echoes, a love that shall never pale.
