TWO STRAWS AND A LONG ISLAND
Two straws and a Long Island
Our eyes met like a breeze of stolen glances
Sipping a thousand heartbeats together
You looked at me and smiled
The gentle shade of a summer sun
The more I tried to look away
the more you were a buoyant force
pushing through my walls
A splash of colours to my black & white
A page-turner to my plot twists
A landslide to my take-it-slow moments
You seemed to ride the waves so easily
Like joyrides of endless adventures
We talked away into the night
A distill of unspoken desires
Holding hands on a midnight drive
Blending a cocktail of mixed emotions
Just you and I
Two straws and a Long Island.
