BELOVED~ BY VANDANA MARTIN
In childhood’s glow, my sister was sweet, a pure cherub
A rose in bloom, her laughter rang, in every room, her presence sang
In childhood’s glow, my sister was sweet, a pure cherub
A rose in bloom, her laughter rang, in every room, her presence sang
This is my letter dear beautiful
Written in red ink with precision
Scribed by my heart without salutation
For you, miss easy on the eyes
Sometimes I wish that I
could end this miserable life
just because of someone like you
I hate you but I’ll miss you
you hurt me and you feel bad
oh, oh bad I love you
but you don’t love me back.
I lost my dream
somewhere, I thought
little did I know,
It was there, always
lying in the cold
alone and lucid..
Galloping a thousand heart beats
Did I catch my breadth outside the door
I closed it shut lest the beast run wild
Where in violent wait it guarded the gate
Feelings bubble inside,
Like boiling lava.
A volcano ready to erupt,
A storm making its way up.
But I push them down,
Say ‘Nevermind,
I don’t want to bother.’
And wonder when
In the late 18th century’s fold,
Corsets cinched, skirts wide, stories untold.
Araminta, Duchess Fair,
Titian locks in garden air.
All seemed lightening when grew darkness within
Blur lights were going grey when the sun looked yellow
The sun set with the last particle of light
Does that mean Panspermia spread?
As I stand at the edge of a cliff I find myself terrified of an ugly truth staring me in the face.
To jump off this cliff would be a terrible disgrace.
Despite the pain that has claimed sanctuary in my brain I prefer to move forward.
Eve,
Divine creation,
God’s wondrous portrayal of womanhood,
She bleeds,
A testament to Mother Nature’s rhythm,
Each month, she bleeds.
