SILHOUETTES IN LIP GLOSS ~BY ANGELINA ROLSTON

SILHOUETTES IN LIP GLOSS

She dresses in a new,
trendy short dress,
Even if it causes her younger self distress.
She can’t leave the house without makeup,
She can’t look at her natural face anymore
In case she has a pore.

Forevermore, fake laughs,
Now giving herself in halves.
Terrified to unfollow,
Because being a victim of bullying is a hard pill to swallow.

Why didn’t she defend her cousin against the bully?
She just continues the act fully.

She follows, just to be popular,
While she watched her cousin get bullied through binoculars.

Why did she risk losing her cousin over this lifestyle?
Does she lie still at night?
Or does she sleep with a light?

She plays a wicked game,
Just living for the temporary “fame”.
