PAIN INSIDE MY CHEST
I was crying in the bathroom, pretending I don’t care
But you never felt the pain inside my chest
Hidden anguish, like whispers in thick air
My tears fall in silence, remain unconfessed
I wipe my face, resolute, my demons contained
Emerging from that bathroom, bolder than before
For my pain though unseen, is not in vain
And I march, unbroken, towards an open door.
