MY LIMERENT OBJECT
You’re watching me
Somewhere in the background
My limerent object
Like the waves of the sea
Reaching the shores of my mind
Receding momentarily to come back again
You’re watching me
Somewhere in the background
My limerent object
Like the dew fall on a winter window
Drying up when the sun is high
But leaving behind a trail of fantasies
You’re watching me
Somewhere in the background
My limerent object
I’ve caught you in your tracks
Now I see your wandering gaze
Sometimes in my eyes, sometimes the mind
Oh how I wish we never met
But you were there when danger kissed me
You were there when tears befriended me
Oh how I wish you replaced the fears
But there you were, hiding in the darkness
Soothing every touch stained by reality
You still watch me
Sometimes in the night
When loneliness creeps in
When all I have are the hours to count
And the dreams to drown me
Oh how my doors opened to you
Save me now from myself
I have many years to go
Until my heart can touch only joy
When sorrows find no gap to fill
To my limerent object…
Set me free from your shadows.
