LESSON BEREFT OF LOGOS
Gray and drained, numbed but absent,
Stained only by the lessons of the past,
The secrets held close, freezing and suffocating
Stark against the clouds, a bolt bright and vivid,
Begone the pallid, welcome the light,
A painful brightness, burning through all barriers,
Welcomed are the rays, blistering heat restoring,
Leaves sprout, cautious yet probing,
Yearned for yet feared, past teachings aching,
Time loses definition, days once empty now filled,
Order shattered, revolutions spread,
Blossoming belief, arrogance comes to the fore,
War draws nearer for Light brings shade to all its vividity,
Eyes that sizzle, mouth that spews,
A hand lifted shorn of love,
Grim-faced and stoic, shame reigning,
Shadow consumes, reflections erased,
Darkness looms, holding court without yield,
Where has the bolt gone? Where has the beautiful fire fled?
Ashes and only ashes lie in wait for rain.
