DRIVING IN THE DARK ~BY MARWAH M. SHEBL

DRIVING IN THE DARK

A Coyote crosses the dark street, in the dark fog.
A headless lady pulling shopping carts at the side of the road, her neck lulled back,
A group of men untying two cars on a dark road in the middle of the woods.
Something shady no doubt about it.

A headless lady pulling shopping carts at the side of the road, her neck lulled back,
Headed to the parking lot of an old church
Something shady no doubt about it.
It’s the dead of night and not a sound can be heard.

Headed to the parking lot of an old church
The priest lost his hat in the woods last night
It’s the dead of night and not a sound can be heard,
But the coughing of old wretches in the back pews.

The priest lost his hat in the woods last night
Not that it’s of any consequence, he’ll find it eventually.
But the coughing of old wretches in the back pews,
Are bound to drive anyone mad.

Not that it’s of any consequence, he’ll find it eventually.
The little annoying things about this place
Are bound to drive anyone mad.
But the night is cold so you might as well stay a while.

The little annoying things about this place
Make it that much more dreary
But the night is cold so you might as well stay a while.
A coyote crosses the dark street, in the dark fog.
