A HEART FOREVER SCARRED
She tended to his wounds with gentle care,
A love so strong, yet forbidden to share.
A married man, with a heart so torn,
He sought solace in her loving form.
He poured his heart out, his every fear,
His doubts, his dreams, his every tear.
She listened closely, with a loving ear,
And soothed his soul, dispelling every fear.
But as she healed his wounds, hers remained,
A heart forever scarred, a love in vain.
For though he loved her, he could not stay,
Tied to his vows, he chose to make amends each day.
She watched as he worked to mend his marriage tie,
A bittersweet feeling, as she wondered why,
She couldn’t be the one, to stand by his side,
To be his partner, his love, his guiding light.
Though her heart was breaking, she chose to be strong,
To support him still, though her hopes were wrong.
For in the end, it was not meant to be,
A love so true, yet doomed from the start, a memory.
Her wounds remain, a heart forever scarred,
A love that healed another, but left her own heart marred.
Yet still she holds on, to the love they shared,
A bittersweet reminder, of a love that dared.
