CHILLY SUMMER NIGHTS
I like it when in summer it’s raining
I like it when at night I am awake while others
might be sleeping
I like it when a foggy ‘tableau’ becomes
my muse
I like it when contemplating it melts my heart
and fuses my soul
I like it when lying in bed I am looking
at the soon cleared dark sky sometimes thinking,
Sometimes looking at the stars
Listening to a symphony composed by Master Mozart
I like it when resisting my sleeping falls,
Follow the whisper of my heart
No sleep is permitted, I murmur, till I finish
my piece of poetry, my bond and tie
Summer nights where I am are like
no other nights
They have something fairy in them,
something heavenly from the sky
And I wish these chilly nights never end,
‘cause in their ending, all of me will end!
