GLEANERS
Gleaners, a painting by Millet,
Shows peasants in a field of wheat.
They work hard, their backs are bent,
As they gather the harvest.
The sun beats down on them,
But they keep working.
In the distance, a car drives by,
A symbol of the modern world.
But the gleaners are oblivious,
They are focused on their work.
They are the backbone of society,
The ones who keep the world going.
