THE WALL ~BY RICHARD MARTIN

THE WALL

I am outside tearing at the wall you built dear,
but you keep building from inside.
Seems I’ll never get through dear,
unless I get some help from inside.

For every grain of sand, I loosen,
you seem to put back five.
For every stone I loosen,
you rush to put up two from inside.

Seems I’ll never get through dear,
to feel the love inside.
I guess it makes you happy,
to see my crying here outside.

No need for me to keep trying,
you built your wall to stay.
All my dreams have faded.
the price is too high to pay.

Someday you’ll feel imprisoned,
by the wall, you built so high.
The wall you built around you,
will haunt you till you die.
