THE STAR CARD
It was the time of Rock N’ Roll
Velvet,
Feeling like a solitary mole
Unhappy,
Miserable,
And Confused
But then, a thought strikes Velvet
A thought,intriguingly curious
Velvet feels drawn to a tarot reading
She’d read much about them in the papers
Uncertain of their mystical power
But with nothing to lose
She enters the Tarot Parlor
Vibrant hues of pink,red and orange
Bursting forth everywhere
And rainbows gleaming in their eyes
A woman adorned in purple eyeshadow appears
She has a look at Velvet
Swiftly gestures to have a seat
Velvet then queries will I find happiness or luck?
Handing her the cards, the tarot reader gestures to Velvet
And asks her to shuffle them while repeating the question
Suddenly!
‘The Star’ Tarot Card flies from Velvets hand
Velvet,
Amidst misery,
Clueless about tomorrow’s promise
Senses a surge of joy
Velvet wonders:
Does this mean a star shines upon me ,
Like a shooting star?
The tarot reader explains:
It signifies a renewal of spirit
bringing forth calmness , serenity ,
and an optimistic outlook for the future
The reader then says
This shows you are healing and connecting to your own spirituality ,
It’s a radiant, positive energy coming to you
Swiftly!
Velvet shocked; as she had thought this ,was a waste of money and time
, as if she had anything else to do!
Velvet in a high pitched voice,
Me?
Finally , luck and happiness shall be mine!
After Velvet departed the tarot Parlor
Velvet returns home,
Tears streaming
Speaking to her husband
Who is recovering in his bed from a illness
Velvet utters
Honey,luck will grace us now,
I promise
Thus,life continued , Revelations dawned
Believe , and you shall receive
Oh the husband?
he died
No one,nothing,could aid him
Or was there…?
