SHINE A LIGHT ~BY PAUL MC CABREY

SHINE A LIGHT
Due to the attraction of the sun and the moon
The neap adds a disturbance to the air
Along the windfall of the silent cry
Second sight sails to shore with censure and threats

Shake your coat as you shelter between the broken boats
To the torn broken birds by the seaside rock
Driftwood flows with the highest watermarks of wry
The conductor of the night guides the way
So far into the night you never strayed

Water dulls with a blue and green sheen
Moss drips from the swinging branches
Coating the gates in a poisonous putrid icing
As jittering types avoid the angry water’s
A beckoning lone light sparkles in a golden wonder

Brake light
Firelight
Spotlight from the lighthouse

Hurry, sweep between the crack’s old boy
For worn with a slash hangs a greylag dripping wet
In your ragged torn chair, your master fans the fires
Calm and knowing in robe and pipe
Nevermore in earnest
Mouth dry
Heart on fire.
