SOLITUDE’S SERENADE ~SHALGUNI TRIPATHI
In shadows cast by strictest light,
She walks alone, away from sight,
A heart encased in walls of fear,
No touch, no love, no comfort near
In shadows cast by strictest light,
She walks alone, away from sight,
A heart encased in walls of fear,
No touch, no love, no comfort near
The sun cracks open, paints the dawn in gold,
A symphony of birds, a story yet untold.
Barefoot steps on dewy grass, a cool embrace,
The world awakens, a vibrant, living space.
Life’s a winding, twisting lane,
Around each bend, a joy, a pain.
Unexpected turns unfold,
A poet’s heart, where beauty shines.
With verses crafted, sharp and keen,
You capture life’s vibrant scene.
A soul that speaks in rhythmic rhyme,
Gray and drained, numbed but absent,
Stained only by the lessons of the past,
The secrets held close, freezing and suffocating
Walking in weakness,
mindless in a known forest.
Styling in sadness,
Forgiveness on a plate to taste
The winter will befall upon our youth,
And it will lose all its springliness then.
A sheer dullness shall have its firm growth,
And the inner green land will turn barren.
Let my wraith fall upon the sinning rats
you share love and time with, only to burn me inside out.
Let us bathe in their blood for the way we loved,
like the dwindling snakes intertwined, biting each other to live without.
I kissed your hands today, to say goodbye. Those two beautiful hands, they raised me. They lifted me when I was down.
The daily anticipation,
The ever-lingering hope,
The hope of meeting him,
Like a child, yearning a mother’s embrace,
Waiting for just that moment,
Alas!! It was just a demon.
