DEMON’S DEN ~BY POETICIA

Do you remember me from your dreams?
Silent grips on the back of your neck
Taste the cramps of betrayal
Memories shedding from your eyes
I’ve come with mirrors in my mouth
Thorns on my tongue
Savour me, the phlegm of your past
The one that you refuse to cough up
Touch my eyes that cover yours
Oh touch my soul that lives on your breath
Feel my pulse that beats through your wrist
I am the desire that feeds off loneliness
I am the fate that makes your bed
Listen to my laughter shrinking your fury
Somewhere deep in the darkness
You have screamed into the silence
Tell me where you ran when light was born
Were the candles melting in your presence?
The night wanted your romance as a bride
The groom at your fingertips danced
Clowns sat on the judge’s panels
Savour me in your dreams
That is where you will find me
I no longer lurk in your world
You won’t feel my absence even
Your illusions live in reality’s stead
Savour me in your dreams
For I am the stuff of nightmares
There it is, that sadistic smile
Your longing for pride’s lips to pout
That it competes with the likes of you
Oh soul of little wisdom
You have found your place
Enthroned in the demon’s den.
