SCINTILLA~BY ANGELINA ROLSTON

SCINTILLA

She, immersed in her books
From dawn till dusk,
In a flowing white dress,
Her skin as pale as moonlight,
Hair the colour of ember,
Absorbed in every word ,
She appeared like a vision,
Radiating brilliance,
A scintilla in the night sky,
Her intelligence
Palpable,
I once read,
‘Knowledge Is Power,’
Which rings
Undeniably true.
Every day we glean
New insights,
Some thirsting for knowledge
While others remain indifferent.

Her gaze meets mine,
Enchanted by her Scintilla,
But by the next day,
When I return,
She,
who is gone.
