THE BEAUTIFUL WORLD
Daylight
does not burn for anyone.
The sunrise
does not break because it’s pretty.
No mountain exists
just for you to climb on,
this beautiful world
is not just yours
to look upon.
Every flower in field,
every bird in song,
every moment that you steal
is just time
moving on.
Don’t avert your gaze
just know that your gaze alone
doesn’t change a thing.
The ocean is deep
without metaphor.
The forest breathes
without you looking for it.
There’s no promised land
there is only land.
This beautiful world
is not just yours
to command.
