ECHOES OF LOST LOVE
Fading memories slowly linger,
Like mist on a rainy vesper.
On the coldest nights of solitude,
I think of your irresistible pulchritude.
Freedom from my Morpheus curse,
I stay stranded, hoping this is verse.
But then I hear my true-life sob,
Know that you are my eternal throb.
In another’s embrace, you reside,
Which was once my solace abiding.
Still, I feel the whisper of your breath,
A fleeting touch, now lost to death’s depth.
Another life with you is a wish to make,
Though that’s all that makes life partake.
In dreams, I hold you close, where hearts entwine,
A hope that fuels me, until our stars realign.
